Berlenga Ocean Challenge in Peniche

The mythical crossing Berlenga Ocean Challenge happens every year in Peniche. Normal can happen between June and July according to weather conditions.

Integrated in the Peniche Paddle Series in 2017, the event provides a crossing between the island of Berlenga (UNESCO Biosphere Reserve) and Peniche in SUP, Kayak de Mar, Canoagem de Mar and Paddle of the Sea, being a test to be told for the national championships of the modalities of the Canoeing and Rowing federations, since the SUP event is a special event.

“We are very pleased to once again welcome the best athletes in canoeing, rowing and SUP in the waters of Peniche. Since 2012 we have organized the event, which is an extraordinarily challenging event, both for the organization and for the athletes. We invested a lot in the safety of all those involved and we hope to have, once again, a spectacular race ”, says Paulo Ferreira, President of Peniche Surfing Clube.
